Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative type of arthritis that results from the wear and tear of joints. If we are fortunate enough to live a long life, most of us will experience this disease as part of aging. However, it may have some degree of inflammation, and there may be some bone erosions in some familial forms. It usually affects finger joints, knees, hips, shoulders, and back.

There are some treatments available that can help in this condition, including over-the-counter medications, prescription medications, and injections. Physical therapy can also help with this condition. In very advanced cases, surgery of the joints may be considered (more commonly in advanced hip, knee, and shoulder joints).

If you have any of the above symptoms, please schedule an appointment with a doctor for the work-up. If you choose us, we will be happy to take care of you and help you with the non-surgical treatments.
